This is a one-of-a-kind Midwestern build designed by Serek team member Atticus Lazenby. Atticus has a great eye for combining unique woods and an affinity for exploring new sounds with pickups and electronics.
This Midwestern features a Chambered Roasted Northern Ash body, double bound with cream binding, and a Roasted Maple neck and fingerboard. The neck features Roasted Ash inlays and a faceplate, tying the woods together with style.
The neck pickup is a TV Jones Thunder’Blade, and the middle pickup is a TV Jones Thunder’Mag. The controls are Master Volume, Master Tone (Push/Pull for Series/Parallel) and a 3-way toggle. The sonic options are ridiculous! This bass can go from snarly P, to smooth and fat EB-0 with ease. And did I mention, this bass is LIGHT!
The Midwestern is a short-scale powerhouse that is compact in size, but does not lack in tone. Think P-bass meets EB-0. The Midwestern is made up of a lightweight Mahogany body and a 30.5″ scale Mahogany set neck making it effortless to play, and easy to travel with. Inspired by vintage Midwest-bred designs, this is our simplest and most utilitarian offering. However, updated with modern hardware and electronics as well as effortless playability, you won’t believe this is just a humble short scale bass!
